Karl Michlik

PHILATELIC CURRICULUM VITAE

Karl Michlik, born in 20.1.1922 in St. Poelten, 1946-1950 studies of psychology, later on career counsellor; 1947-1977 dito in St. Poelten as vicepresident of the career counsellor-agency of the town; 1977 president of the career counsellor-agency in Melk; councilor Collectors Club in St. Poelten (founded 1955 the youth group, from 1960 president); AIJP (co-founder 1962); Austrian Philatelic Federation (VÖPh) - with different functions over the years: e.g. PR, WIPA 1965-organising team; from 1973 vice-president of the Federation; from 1958 on organizer of different exhibitions, international exhibitor, author in foreign stamp papers; he had from 1966-1967 a regular radio hour for philately, from 1970 in cooperation with ORF (AustrianRradio); he had great merits for his work of international relationship, especially with Germany, France and Belgium;

Awards: Special councilor and others; 1971 gold medal of northern Austria; 1973 silver honor award of Austria; 1975 Hesshaimer award of the Austrian Philatelic Federation; 1981 award of St. Poelten.
